How Does the New 2021 Subaru Forester Compare to the Toyota RAV4?

When you’re shopping for a new SUV in Gaithersburg, it can be hard to figure out what makes one SUV better than another. At Fitzgerald Subaru of Gaithersburg, we wanted to highlight some of the key differences between the Subaru Forester and the Toyota RAV4 to make your shopping choices a little easier.

Performance in a Head-to-Head

The Forester comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 182 horsepower, and compared to the RAV4’s 203 horsepower, that may seem low. However, the Forester comes with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive standard across all trims, allowing it to grip the pavement in Germantown, MD better than the RAV4’s Rear-Wheel Drive.

Comparing the Cargo Volume

One of the biggest features of an SUV over a smaller car is how much it can carry. The Forester has up to 76.1 cubic feet of cargo space available, and its large doors give you easy access to that space. The RAV4 only has a maximum of 69.8 cubic feet, and its doors don’t offer you quite the same level of access.

Other Fantastic Features of the Subaru Forester

If you’re interested in some easy listening around Washington, DC, the Forester has an available Harman Kardon® premium sound system with a 576-watt amplifier and nine quality speakers. The STARLINK® Multimedia system has a touchscreen of up to 8.0 inches, and you can easily plug in your phone for Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration.
