The Subaru brand configured the Wilderness to have a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine. This engine delivers 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. Like other Outback trims, it comes standard with the brand's symmetrical all-wheel drive setup. One thing that's different about the Wilderness is that it has an enhanced X-MODE system. X-Mode can engage whenever you want to have extra traction. You can choose from Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud settings. Hill Descent Control can ensure that you don't pick up too much speed when you travel down a slope, and Active Torque Vectoring can contribute to the overall handling.
