The 2021 Subaru SUVs vs. Competitors in Gaithersburg MD

Compare Each 2021 Subaru SUV

Subaru has four SUVs models, and they're all great, so how do you choose between them? They all have features like Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and STARLINK® Multimedia systems. At Fitzgerald Subaru of Gaithersburg, we've compiled some information on each Subaru SUV to highlight some of the key differences.

Subaru Ascent

The 2021 Subaru Ascent is the largest of Subaru's SUVs. It has the most cargo space, with up to 86.5 cubic feet available. It also has a third row of seats, allowing for up to eight passengers with 153.5 cubic feet of volume for them to stretch out into. It also has the same great engine from the Outback's XT trims to give it the power to carry you just about anywhere.

To accommodate the extra passengers, there are two USB ports in the second row and an available two for the third row. It also has tri-zone automatic climate control to keep the driver, front passenger and rear passengers comfortable throughout the drive. There are also available heated and ventilated front seats and heated second-row seats.

Subaru Crosstrek

The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek is the most affordable of the Subaru SUVs but still has some excellent features. It has 100.9 cubic feet of passenger volume, allowing everyone to stretch out and get comfortable during those long drives out of Rockville. Plus, you don't have to worry about the car snagging on debris on the highway thanks to the 8.7 inches of clearance.

The Crosstrek is also the only Subaru SUV with an available hybrid trim, giving you up to 35 mpg on your drive while helping the environment. You can keep cool with the automatic climate control and plug in your phone with the standard USB for some fantastic music.

Subaru Forester

The 2021 Subaru Forester offers great cargo volume with up to 76.1 cubic feet of it. It also has standard Continually Variable Transmission, giving you better mileage and a smoother ride. The LED Steering Responsive Headlights can turn with you to help you see better around dark bends, and your lights and high beams can automatically turn on and off depending on the surrounding conditions.

When you want to listen to music, it can sound great with the available Harman Kardon® premium audio system, which provides eight speakers and a 432-watt amplifier. The available EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology can help you stay safe on the road with driver assistance features like pre-collision braking and lane departure warning.

Subaru Outback

The 2021 Subaru Outback is the Washington DC adventurer's SUV. It can tow up to 3,500 pounds thanks to an upgraded engine on the XT trims that puts out 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. Combining this with the 8.7-inch clearance and AWD makes the XT trims great for going off the beaten trail.

The XT trims don't get all the fun, of course. The STARLINK® dual 7.0-inch screens are standard in the Outback, allowing you to control navigation, audio and more with either the physical buttons and knobs or through the touchscreen. All Outbacks get Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control as well, giving you some peace of mind when out on long stretches of road outside Germantown, MD. You can press a button to remember one of two configurations for the power-adjustable driver's seat and side mirrors.
